Hot on the heels of their Studio 34 debut in March, members of Wombat are back for a reconfigured evening of improvised music with friends.

househusbands create improvised electronic music: lucid explorations of rhythm, harmony, and sound. Christopher Burns plays custom software instruments, sculpting microtonal harmonies and subtly flickering drones. Carlos Cotallo Solares uses guitar-driven electronics, layering chiming chords, glitchy rhythms, and echoing squeals of noise. Together they create the domestic space of househusbands—sometimes ferocious and energetic, often hushed and intimate, always personal and distinctive.

Will Yager is a double bassist committed to experimental music, improvisation, and collaborating with other artists in the creation of new solo and chamber repertoire. A founding member of the duo LIGAMENT and the trio Wombat, Will has played at the High Zero Festival, Omaha Under the Radar, University of Iowa Center for New Music, Experimental Sound Studios’ Quarantine Concerts, the International Society of Bassists Convention, Nief-Norf Summer Festival, New Music on the Point, Cortona Sessions for New Music, and the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival. He is based in Baltimore, Maryland.

Come as early as 8:00pm for tea and snacks, music starts at 8:30pm. As a sober space, we make no bucks from the bar, so please pay what you can to keep our studio and its guest musicians afloat!
