Since 2010, Studio 34 has hosted an annual class on Thanksgiving morning to raise awareness and funds for Indigenous-led movements to protect land and water from the fossil fuel industry. This year we are supporting 7 Directions of Service, an indigenous-run organization that’s leading the fight to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) that threatens to cut through Appalachia.

Join Studio 34 senior yoga teacher Morgan Andrews for a 90-minute practice that includes a Land Acknowledgement, yoga practice and meditation to honor and support leaders of the movement to protect Water and Earth from the conveniences and poisons of a post-industrialized world. Morgan has longstanding relationships with people in the Stop MVP movement and recently leant a hand to one of their projects on a trip out of state.

7 Directions of Service (7DS) is an Indigenous-led environmental justice and community organizing collective based on Occaneechi-Saponi homelands in rural North Carolina dedicated to canceling the Mountain Valley Pipeline/Southgate Extension, advocating for legal Rights of Nature and developing a land, language and cultural center based on traditional teachings. All donations will go to those on the frontline of the fight against fossil fuel expansion. You can give directly to 7DS to StopMVP, at their donation page.
