hosted by the Getaway Choir
Saturday, January 11
7:30pm
You are invited to be a part of the Getaway Choir for an enchanted evening! Bring “all your stupid friends” to sing along — No haters!
Created by Mark Engler, his 12-year-old daughter Cylvia, and Mark’s guitar student and longtime “parasocialist” Swiftie Leewana Thomas, the Getaway Choir is hosting a singalong in the Studio lounge.
There will be a live band of guitar, bass, mandolin, and percussion, and a core crew of singers who have been practicing to make this night sparkle. But don’t think “concert,” think “raucous singalong!” And maybe think “hootenanny” and “group catharsis via scream singing the most devastating bridges that have ever been written.” 🙂
The event is free, but we are anticipating A LOT of attendance. Please register for a ticket to guarantee that you get in the door as long as you arrive by 7:30. From then on, we’ll be fitting in as many as we can!
We’ll be collecting freewill donations to cover some of our costs, and to support the studio’s newly christened arts wing “34 Arts.”
