Studio 34 presents a mixed bill featuring local and touring acts in jazz, r&b, indie folk, experimental, alternative, indie pop, and more. These artists are on tour together now, and we’re super honored to be hosting their Philly stop!
JONILL is an emerging singer, songwriter, and producer in the Philadelphia area. His art serves to reflect and connect, focusing on themes of self love and growth through the lens of Alternative R&B, Jazz, and Neo- Soul. In innovating and emulating sounds of the past, he strives to make music that is unique yet nostalgic. See and hear all things Jonill right here.
ANJALI ROSE is a bandleader, film score composer, producer, vocalist / multi instrumentalist based in the Mid Atlantic, predominantly out of New York City. When not doing music Anjali is making films through Ananda Luna Productions. To find out more, visit Anjali’s website.
THE LUNAR CALENDAR is a literary folk-rock project in Philadelphia led by Saher Khan (they/them). Saher’s songs are simple tell-alls: honest, somber, hopeful prose-poems that reveal fractious embodiment, religious trauma, and the process of creating home. Here’s a song or two.
SABRINA is a queer non-binary first-generation Haitian artist. By combining trance-like melodies with layers of guitar, piano, and lush harmonies, they are able to translate more than just sounds that are pleasing to the ear. Their creations arouse a full body experience that feels like a spell being cast. They consider their sound a form of musical alchemy and hope that whoever is listening is left with feelings of wonder, curiosity, and expansion. Hear Sabrina on Apple Music or on Spotify.
Doors to the show open at 7:30, with music starting around 8:00. Come early to see Landscapes on the Edge of Abstraction, an art show of oil paintings and encaustics currently on display in Studio 34’s hallway gallery.
