On the day after the Winter Solstice, we take our cues from nature and honor the darkness of our grief. Together, we will explore the energy and embodiment of grief, be it personal, relational, environmental, political, seasonal or something else entirely. We will lean on our practices of yoga and pranayama paired with writing and somatic movement prompts that allow us to familiarize ourselves with our grief and give it a space to express through our bodies and our voices.
Writer Cole Arthur Riley offers us the following breath affirmation as a reminder that we can more sustainably hold our grief when we do it alongside one another:
Inhale: This too much to hold
Exhale: So we hold it together
Thank you for choosing to be in intentional community ritual around our grief. May our practice expand our emotional bandwidth and sustain us in our efforts towards transformation.
