About Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a systematic, guided, lying down relaxation technique originating from the ancient ritual of Nyasa where mantras are physically or mentally placed on the body. In Yoga Nidra we explore the hypnogogic state between waking and dreaming. Yoga Nidra includes breathing exercises, sankalpa, body scan, opposite practice and visualization techniques.
The benefits of Yoga Nidra include deep relaxation, healing, stress management and personal transformation. As a pratyahara practice (5th limb of Yoga), Yoga Nidra acts as a gateway to accessing deeper states of meditation.

Nya Patrinos (MFA, C-IAYT, ERYT, YACEP) became a competitive athlete at the age of six. After years of strenuous athletics, chronic pain and failed knee surgeries, she found relief in yoga. In a quest for more answers and a desire to share what she learned while healing her own body, Nya decided to become a yoga therapist. Nya is passionate about yoga, art and meditation as tools for healing and transformation. She has created and taught numerous workshops, teacher trainings and therapeutic yoga classes throughout Los Angeles. Nya’s training is a combination of East and West. She has a Diploma of Merit in Yoga Therapy from The Ghosh College of India in Calcutta (Muktamala Mita) and an 800-hour Certificate in Yoga Therapy from Integrative Yoga Therapy (Joseph Le Page) based at Kripalu in Massachusetts.
In addition, she is certified in Yoga for the Heart (Nischala Devi), Functional Yoga Therapy (Maria Mendola), Therapeutic Vinyasa (Loyola Marymount University), Restorative Yoga (Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation), Yin Yoga (Master Paulie Zink), Yoga Nidra (Yoga Academy of North America), and Transformative Art (Art 4 All People).
