Students can expect a deeply relaxing, meditative experience which will take them on a tranquil journey of healing and self discovery. Everything in this Universe, including our bodies, is composed of vibrations. During these Sound Bath Yoga infused Meditations, students will tune into those vibrations in order to achieve deep relaxation along with a profound sense of peace and well-being.
A deeper look into the theories behind Singing Bowl meditation:
What is a Singing Bowl meditation?
A Singing Bowl meditation is a unique type of sound practice that involves using therapeutic sounds and vibrations to bring about healing. Sound healing therapy uses aspects of music to improve physical and emotional health and well-being. According to some researchers, the vibrations of a singing bowl can produce beneficial changes in the body by reducing stress, “harmonizing” the cells, and “balancing the body’s energy system.” Some also claim that singing bowls can stimulate the immune system and produce beneficial changes in brain waves. Tibetan singing bowls are used in some Buddhist religious practices to accompany periods of meditation and Sound Therapy. This method of sound healing is ancient and sacred in Tibet, where it was first used around the 12th century for meditation and rituals.
What can sound heal?
Using sound as therapy can provide results for a variety of issues including: Sleep disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Stress management, PTSD, pain management, releasing the stagnant energy, ect.
What can you expect?
Most people will feel very relaxed and peaceful during a sound healing. Afterwards they may also find they carry significantly less tension, anger, fatigue, depression, and anxiety while increasing a sense of spiritual well-being.
How does it work?
Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entertainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).
*** It’s recommended that students arrive about 10 mins before the workshop so they can have time to set their intentions for their healing journey. ***
