Studio 34 is psyched to have Aaron Pond and Sonali Singh back playing music, this time with percussionist Karen Smith doing an ekphrastic take on the quasi-crystal “Einstein’s Hat.” Pond is known for reinventing what the human body can do with both French horn and not-so-French vocals, so best bring your own hat and hold onto it. Singh stages a similar revolutionary remix of bassoon and voice, occasionally accompanying Smith on drums and percussion.

As if this weren’t awesome enough, the Pond-Singh-Smith Ensemble will be improvising for abstract visualization. Joined by local dancer Mijka Smith and Russian visual artist Natasha Vix, they explore worlds only possible through wet ink. A larger exhibition of Vix’s work will grace our walls in July.

Come as early as 8:00pm for tea and snacks, music starts at 8:30. As a sober space, we make no bucks from the bar, so please pay what you can to keep our studio and its guest artists afloat!
