Clowning for Collective Healing is a new series at Studio 34 that integrates clown principles, yoga, and community dialogue to explore the role of play, vulnerability, and shared laughter in processing collective community experiences. This project aims to create a unique space for personal growth, community building, and social change through the power of embodied practice.

Join us for thought-provoking discussions exploring the intersections of clowning, healing, and social justice. These dialogues bring together local artists, activists, and community members to discuss how embodied practice can serve as a tool for individual and collective transformation.

December’s convo features the folks who put on Philly Clown Slam, a monthly revue of local clowns who have been performing at Studio 34 and elsewhere for the past year. IF you’re a fan of Clown Slam—or even if you’ve never been — this is THE Clowning for Collective Healing Convo to check out!

About This Series:

Stemming from the practice and sharing of both clown and yoga, host Danielle Levsky finds that both have their roots in healing—healing from learned patterns, negative perceptions, and fear of the unknown, as well as helping others heal from what ails, plagues, and keeps us disconnected from others. Clowning for Collective Healing delves into all that and the sustaining power of joy and play.

The series consists of two main components: Community Dialogues one Wednesday a month, and Fool’s Yoga classes one Thursday a month.
