Join artist Ella-Gabriel Mason and Jewish Voice for Peace at the closing reception for Eser Hamakot / Ten Plagues, an installation, durational performance, and community art project that seeks to visualize the terrible impact of the illegal Occupation of Palestine.
Jewish American artist Ella-Gabriel Mason has adapted a ritual from the Passover seder, marking violations of human rights under the 10 Plagues of Occupation, with drops of red wine on white paper plates. Palestinian testimonies from human rights reports, news articles, and comrades in the West Bank are interwoven among the hanging sheets of wine-stained plates. Mason intends the project as a source of political education and a way of calling their community to account for American and Zionist support of Israel and settler colonialism.
At this closing event, Mason will also present some other artistic work related to the piece, as well as offering discussion of their work and where it will go next. See more about it here.
