Many Faces Sangha is a mindfulness practice group in West Philadelphia based in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and the desire of MLK to create a “beloved community.” It’s our desire to have a sangha (spiritual community) reflective of our city’s many faces, with the knowing that at this time in history, as Thich Nhat Hanh says, “One buddha is not enough.” Today’s buddhas and bodhisattvas don’t only look like the historical ‘classic’ buddha, they look like us.
