Monica finds it hard to remember how she managed life before discovering yoga and meditation in 2005. These practices have expanded her heart and her awareness exponentially. In Monica’s words, “Yoga reminds us of our basic goodness and teaches us how to unconditionally love and accept ourselves. One of most powerful gifts yoga has given me is learning how to change my perspective; the way that I view myself and my life.” Grateful for having continually experienced such deep healing on physical, emotional, and energetic levels, it is her hope that others will find this same nourishing quality within the heart of a sincere practice. Through the doorway of the physical body, we are able to peek into the mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual realms; sifting through toxicity and negativity that holds us back from realizing our brilliant potential of a precious human life. Yoga is a practice of listening to what we need, and the practice has many different paths. That being said, some days her practice consists of physical asana and chanting, sometimes her practice is to simply remember to breath, and on other days her practice is going out salsa dancing (Monica’s “other” yoga!). In her classes, Monica intends to inspire students to develop and trust in their intuition, to sense the perfection of their unique existence, and to simply feel more alive in this life. Monica currently teaches Yin, Vinyasa, and children’s yoga. She has a BS in Elementary Education from Drexel University and is a graduate of Wake Up Yoga’s Yin & Vinyasa teacher trainings.
