This class explores using yoga, breathing techniques and meditation as tools for coping with feelings of anxiety and depression. We will discuss how these emotions are related and how yoga, breath and meditation can help navigate these feelings and allow us to reconnect to a space of ease. These practices also help build our self awareness which can be key in identifying when we start to feel anxious or depressed so that we can identify when the best timing is to implement these tools and what it is that can actually help us feel better verses what our minds may be convincing us to do in the moment. Students will leave with a handout of what we practiced in class in order to practice on their own. Beginner friendly but open to all levels.
*Please note that Naima is not a therapist, she is simply sharing techniques and teachings that have been helpful in her own experience with these emotions. She has learned these techniques through other yoga teachers, therapists, a trauma informed training and her own research on this subject.
