Whether you are excited to begin your Sarvangasana practice — the Queen of the Asana — or want to move deeper toward Niralamba Sarvangasana, this 2-hour workshop will provide you with techniques to strengthen your core, stretch your shoulders and float into your asana.
The workshop will cover the benefits of this inversion, contraindications, and best practices for safety. Several versions of Sarvangasana give all the benefits of resting the heart, boosting immune system and strengthening the lower back. Warm-up, practice including a sarvangasana series, yoga nidra (deep relaxation), pranayama for expansion and control of the breath, and dhyana (meditation) round out this workshop. As taught in the Integral Yoga Institute founded by Sri. Swami Satchidananda.
This workshop is not suitable for women who are pregnant.
