Morgan Andrews has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and became a studio teacher in 2009 with foundation training from Ana Forrest (Forrest Yoga), ongoing training with Zhenja La Rosa and Justicia DeClue (alignment yoga), and studies in yoga for the eyes. Morgan’s teaching style roots itself in the pedagogy of Augusto Boal and Jana Sanskriti (Theatre of the Oppressed) with whom he also trained, as well as Philly’s Contact Improv and devised performance community, which he supports as Studio 34’s Arts Curator. Morgan has served on faculty for Goddard College’s Socially Engaged Art program and as a Lecturer in Performance at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Morgan leads the Yoga Sequencing portion of Studio 34’s Yoga Teacher Training, runs a regular workshop on hands-on assists for yoga teachers, and hosts Sunday’s Advancing Asana class, the longest running yoga class at Studio 34.New Years Eve Yoga & Mochi started in 2010 with Philadelphia’s need to provide more sober community events for the holiday.
