Anniversary Art Show
Friday, March 27, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
We begin our One Year Anniversary weekend with a very special visual art show featuring three friends of Studio 34. At the intersections of art and science, spirit and cognition, each Artist's work investigates the mysterious inner workings of human nature. Zoe Cohen's drawings of our cellular biology ask, "Where does the external become the internal?". Neuroscientist Greg Dunn's Asian-inspired paintings on hanging scrolls and gold leaf explore the beauty of the brain at the microscopic scale of neurons. Saliha Moore's sacred geometry lies somewhere between the organic and the mathematical. Come enjoy refreshments and pick the brains of these perceptive artists!

To present the challenge of simply identifying our diet, animals are depicted in intimate detail or removed simplification. Music by David End.

Iyengar's 90th Birthday Gala
Friday, December 5, 7 to 10 p.m.
It is with great excitement that we announce that our local Iyengar Yoga community in Philadelphia will hold a celebratory gala, in honor of B.K.S. Iyengar's 90th birthday. The gala will benefit B.K.S. Iyengar's own Bellur Project.
Bellur is a very small town outside of Banglalore, India where Mr. Iyengar was born. Mr. Iyengar has built an elementary and high school for girls, a water system for the town, a temple to Patanjali, a hospital, and purchased 22 hectares of land to grow food for the hospital and a new nursing college. He is now building a dormitory for the nursing school and a wall to protect the field. His dream is that the children of this very poor village will have access to education and jobs.
The gala will include performances by ArcheDream for HUMANKIND, Allyn Miner, and other local musicians, in addition to a silent auction. Items for bid include: a cabin in the Poconos; artworks by Jill Bonovitz, Joan Beck, and Gerry Tuten; a private yoga class with Joan White; a rolfing session with Linda Grace; a "Light on Life" book, autographed by BKS Iyengar, and more!
